Hello readers! I am writing today about the United States unconstitutional policy on bisexual, gay and lesbian soldiers serving in the military. Nowadays, most military personnel do not care if a person is bisexual, gay or lesbian. I currently have a friend who serves that is gay but in the closet like many men! So why do we need the policy when there are currently gay/lesbian and bisexual men in the military now? Why are heterosexual men targeted under the policy just for being friends with someone who serves? A person’s sexual orientation is their personal business and not something that anyone else needs to know but them and who they share it with. What matters most is that the person performs their duties to the best of his/her capabilities whether civilian or military!!
While in uniform a person should be free from harassment from any person in or out of uniform while serving their country. When your working at work your there to work for the employer and nothing else should matter! The issue with Americans, I believe is too much focus on sexuality vs our moral values. A person’s personal life should be one where when working is not brought into the workspace. Work is to earn an income and your free time is to socialize and make friends. Although, I am sure you might make new friends while at work.
I feel if we remove this policy and replace it one with a honest policy that our nation’s economic recession can improve and “Yes, We can change!” just as President Obama’s remarks in his 2008 presidential primary campaign!! All he needs to do is pick up the pen and sign that new policy into a new one! When do you think your going to be the person who makes the decision for this country President Obama? Pick up that pen and sign the Military Enhancement Readiness Act (H.R. 1283) into effect now before time runs out! The time to act is now!! Maybe then I might give you my first ever presidential vote!
Imagine all the money that would flow back into our economy if this policy was changed!
